In Italy, we work with farmer associations, research institutes and universities with the aim of developing a quality hazelnut value chain. The ways in which we offer support include sharing know-how and providing training in good agricultural practices to Italian hazelnut farmers to develop their orchards and enhance traceability.

To guide the development of Ferrero Farming Values (FFV) Italy and to contribute to the overall improvement of the hazelnut sector, we have recently established the Comitato Scientifico Nocciola (Hazelnut Scientific Committee) bringing together university professors and experts from various agricultural and scientific disciplines, based in different Italian regions. We believe advancing knowledge and innovation is essential to address sustainability challenges in hazelnut cultivation.

In 2018, we partnered with farmer associations in the Progetto Nocciola Italia, to promote sustainable quality hazelnut cultivation across Italy. The project was open to farmer associations until December 2021 and during this time we partnered with farmer associations in 12 Italian regions.
